NACSA POINTS

NACSA will often use "points" to promote member engagement. NACSA has partnered with a company named GamiPress to help track points and to identify engagement abuse. The system uses an algorithm to assign points to the most active users but to also remove points from those trying to "cheat" the system. For example, if you make a post and it is a popular post that gets a lot of likes and a lot of comments you will get a lot of points. And those liking and commenting on the post will get points, because this is MEMBER ENGAGEMENT. But if you create a post and then are the only person to comment, you may loose points as the system sees that you are posting items and then commenting on them just to get more points. Another example would be if you "like" someones post you may get 5 points. But if you unlike the post after liking the post you may loose 15 points because the system believes that you are trying to "play" it. In general, do the right thing, engage members, post things that are relevant, and let the best Campus Safety Professional win!!!! (Also, we base everything on eastern time, and we remove the point viewing about 24 hours before the final outcome so that we don't have '"point playing" against members).

(please note, because of the algorithm, it may take several hours for your points to show up)
