The University Police Department has an immediate opening for a Police Officer. The Police officer is responsible for protecting the people on campus and University property. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position. Patrol officers are on call twenty-four hours a day; however, they will have a regular work schedule that will include working some weekends, holidays, and special events.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until July 22, 2018.
Patrol campus buildings, grounds, and adjacent areas/properties of the University
Enforcing Indiana state laws, city and county ordinances, as well as the rules and policies of the University
Provide for the safety, security, and well-being of the University community
Investigate crimes and other incidents
Restrain and/or arrest suspects when necessary
Complete and submit crime and incident reports
Provide assistance to courts in prosecution of cases
High school diploma or GED is required
Valid Indiana operator’s license is required
Ability to exercise discretion is required
Possession of a strong moral and ethical character is required
Ability to correctly speak, spell, and punctuate in English is required
Ability to display a positive attitude, while being service oriented and flexible is required
The successful completion of a physical exam, psychological evaluation, drug test, and physical agility testing (if required) are additional conditions of employment
