Has primary responsibility for environmental safety and security, functions as specified by the Safety & Security Manager for the Blue Mountain campuses. This position has the authority to select and motivate the performance of the staff assigned at the Blue Mountain campuses. The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent to the position.
Primary responsibility for the safety and security programs for the Blue Mountain campuses. Maintains current and satisfactory knowledge of safety and security standards including Joint Commission, PADOH, OSHA, and NFPA.
Schedules security officers to provide adequate coverage of shifts facilities based on ongoing risk assessment activity including special events, holidays, seasonal activity, and weekends,
Maintains a system of security for the Blue Mountain campuses including security cameras, access control, alarms and other technologies.
Creates Stand Operating Procedures (SOP) that enables security officers reassigned from other campuses to perform in an efficient manner at the Blue Mountain campuses.
Collects safety and security data. Recommends and implements performance improvement initiatives based on organizational priorities.
Coordinates and provides safety and security training for the organization’s leaders and staff.
Participates in the design of security and emergency incident response plans to meet unique needs of the Blue Mountain campuses.
Ensures preventative maintenance and testing is performed on security and safety and emergency response assets.
Responds to emergency situations including external and internal disasters, evacuations, hazardous material spills, patient decontamination events, and fires. Such responses may include temporary redeployment to another campus.
Presents safety and security education programs for the organization’s leaders and staff.
Maintains the master chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database for the Blue Mountain campuses.
Implements safety and security corrective action plans based on After Action Reports (AAR).
Participates in the design of lnterim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) for construction projects at the Blue Mountain sites. Inspections construction sites for compliance with safety regulations.
Performs scheduled safety inspection and performance improvement rounds.
Maintains documentation to satisfy regulatory and accreditation standard requirements.
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled with the Network/entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. Responsible for payroll documentation.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
