High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with up to one (1) year of specialized or technical training.
Three (3) years directly-related experience as a commissioned police officer.
Minimum qualifications can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Preferred qualifications:Preference will be given to individuals who possess:
Directly-related experience in CCURE (electronic access control, intrusion alarm systems and closed circuit TV systems)
Knowledge of police operational procedures and methods such as; non-crime calls for service, traffic control, arrest procedures, preliminary investigations, and community service.
Experience working in an educational institution.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Six (6) or more years’ experience serving as a police officer.
Experience serving as a field training officer.
Evidence of specialized training, firearms, crime scene, self-defense, etc.
Assignment will include work at any MCC campus for various shifts to include morning, evening, overnight and /or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

This is the second level in the Campus Police series. Incumbents patrol and inspect the campus and provide safety and security related services to all students, staff, faculty and visitors. Major duties and responsibilities include: patrolling campus; responding to calls for assistance; locking and unlocking facilities; monitoring security cameras; identifying violations; providing security services for events; directing traffic; issuing traffic citations; and maintaining records, logs, and documentation of activities and incidents.
Typical Essential Duties
Patrols the campus by foot or vehicle and conducts security checks; monitors security cameras; locks and unlocks facilities; and provides security services during events, to identify suspicious activity and ensure student, staff, faculty, and visitor safety.
Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance; work may involve transmitting and receiving information, performing first aid, contacting medical personnel, providing advisement, resolving conflicts, arresting individuals, and enforcing applicable laws.
Identifies safety and student conduct violations; conducts investigations; and enforces City, State, and Federal laws, and campus policies and procedures.
Enforces traffic and parking ordinances, to include identifying safety/traffic hazards, directing traffic, issuing traffic citations, assisting motorists, escorting vehicles, and identifying unattended vehicles.
Coordinates with staff, faculty, and community groups, and other internal/external personnel, departments, and/or agencies to maintain effective working relations and facilitate College and the Police Department’s operations.
May conduct training sessions for probationary campus police officers and public safety officers.
Performs administrative duties to include maintaining records, logs, and documentation of activities and incidents; assigning parking passes; providing general and specific information; and inspecting equipment for proper functioning.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Positions Supervised Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be exposed to extreme temperatures; inadequate lighting; intense noise; and other environmental conditions, such as, challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environments.
Missouri POST Class A license.
