Reporting to the Watch Commander, responsibilities of this position would include maintaining a safe environment for the University community by way of patrol (foot and vehicular) of buildings, grounds, parking lots, off campus facilities and city streets within our jurisdiction.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
High school diploma or GED, successful completion of 400+hours of police academy training from a State of IL certified program and a minimum of one year of related experience.
Must have worked or are working for a full-time Police Department.
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to make sound decisions and utilize good judgement in stressful situations.
CERTIFIED, FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER BY THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, OR ABLE TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ILETSB
State of Illinois certified firearms training
a current F.O.I.D. card
valid driver’s license in good standing.
Must be able to adequately keyboard and use Department software systems.
