Cazenovia College is currently accepting applications for a Director of Campus Safety. The Director of Campus Safety serves as the chief safety officer of Cazenovia College and manages the personnel and processes of the Campus Safety Department. The director supervises campus compliance with safety regulations by drafting policy, creating and revising standard operating procedures and developing emergency action plans.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
* Supervision and management of the Campus Safety Department including hiring and training of officers.
* Draft, implement and update campus safety policies, operating procedures, and safety initiatives
* Serve as Co-Chair of the Emergency Response Team
* Responsible for all aspects of Clery reporting requirements
* Conduct, supervise and evaluate campus emergency response drills
* Maintain working relationships with the Office of Student Life concerning issues of student conduct
* Maintain effective, collaborative and proactive relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as other college and university police and security departments
* Respond to College emergencies and crisis situations
* Coordinate campus compliance with Campus Safety policy
* Manage the inventory, ordering and maintenance of Campus Safety equipment
* Plan, propose and implement Campus Safety Budget
* Represent the department for parent information meetings and new student orientations
* Schedule and track employee time and attendance
* Schedule security coverage for all special events
* Perform employee evaluations and review job performance
* Review shift logs and officer incident reports
* Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to prepare reports
* Skill in developing strong community relations and building bridges between the campus community and surrounding community
* Must have a collaborative style of leadership, with the ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, and to foster a team environment within the department
* Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office suite and other industry-driven software
* Leadership skills for training and motivating staff and addressing security issues
* Ability to relate well to the diverse populations of the College
* Experience with investigations (including Title IX)

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements: 5-10 years’ experience in security field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Valid Driver’s License, NYS Security Guard License
